The Polly Ploy, 1993.
Scented acrylic on colored card
64 x 84cm.
Peggy Giacometti Collection, Venice.

Artist
Tigger, a three year old tabby, works with great care to produce exquisite little expressionistic portraits of the white cockatoo with whom she shares her home. She was placed second in the Zampa d'Oro (golden Paw) award at the Esposizione dell'Arte Felino in Milan in 1993 for her very complex work in white entitled "Polly With The Kettle On".

Curatorial Notes
"...the interaction between artist and model is complex. While Tigger seemingly takes great care to capture the essential quality of "birdness" as she sees it exemplified by Polly, her informal and somewhat scattered treatment of feathers clearly suggests a desire to also capture in a non-aesthetic sense."
