Artist
Advocat, a seven year old white, orange-eyed short-hair who lives on a vineyard in Bordeaux, was encouraged to paint on the vine posts after her owners noticed how frequently she made "significant scratch marks" on them. While she now paints on paper or card, her preference is still for the post which she will sometimes work on for several months at a time.

Curatorial Notes
"...these multifarious daubings which swirl round (and upward), at once evoke a sense of tiny birds fluttering on a balmy summer's afternoon, while the inclusion of deep claw marks which intersect them, suggest a more basic intuition without regressing into the psychological iconography so often exploited by other post impressionists." Martin O'Connor, exhibition catalog, Arles, 1995.

Sent In By: Chantal and Pierre du Mombrisson of Pessac, Bordeaux, France.

Estimated Value: Photographically verified post works sell for more than $12,000 in France.
