Selena's "fairy chant" creates the perfect ambience for Zoot's glissades.
When Selena dances with Zoot, she seems guided by him to adopt rather awkward and momentarily frozen positions in the moddle of her dance. The cat reacts to these still postures by leaping over and around her as if her sudden cessation of movement was quite unexpected and startling.
A cat's tail, is remarkably versatile in registering the most subtle nuances of mood and intention, and Selena can apparently "read" these signals. "Pussy's tail," she explains solemnly, "does wiggles that make me do I don't know why things.
