"Marmaduke likes to jig about on his own.

I've tried dancing with him but he just stops and walks away.

He'll only dance with Melissa our 10 year-old daughter, especially if he's just had a big session in the catnip patch. There's a real understanding between them when they dance. You can see it in their faces as well as in the way they harmonize their movements.

I believe the cat lives in the moment of the dance just like we do. When we dance we're scarcely aware of what we're doing because it's all so fast and in that semi-conscious state we can communicate on a non-verbal, spiritual level where the contact is quite pure. It's out of this completeness of communication between cat and human that a really dynamic energy vibration arises that both species benefit from."
